Satmex and Innova Sign Contract to Provide DTH Services Through
Solidaridad 2
MEXICO CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 1999--Satmex (Satelites Mexicanos
S.A. de C.V.) announced today the extension of its contractual
relationship with Innova, S. de R. L. (Sky in Mexico) to provide DTH
services through the Solidaridad 2 satellite, through December of the
year 2001 with an option to extend this service.
Under the recently signed contract with Innova's subsidiary, Corporacion
de Radio y Television del Norte de Mexico S.A. de C.V., Satmex will
deliver DTH services for Sky through 12 Ku-band transponders on
Solidaridad 2 (Sol 2). Sol 2 is a HS601 geosyncronous satellite at
113(degrees) W.L. It operates 16 C-band and 18 Ku-band transponders and
gives Sky coverage of Mexico.
