Chris, would you give an example of the "vile filth" that you are referring to? I can't find any.

Wow, vile filth, and evil. Serious stuff; odd that I haven't noticed it. Could you please link me to a few posts you would classify as "vile filth", and a few that you would call "evil"? Hopefully a few of mine will make the cut.

You write this to Sidney:

Yes, I am judging your actions in the hopes of turning you in the right direction.

And who, pray tell, are you to tell Sidney what "the right direction" is? Are you saying you want him to become the same kind of harping, obnoxious, self-indulgent prick that you are?

Sidney is a Christian. Maybe not the same kind you are, but you are in no positiopn to judge whether his kind is better or worse than yours.

I think you embarrass him. If I was a Christian you would certainly embarrass me.

There is a little exercise you might want to try. Read a few of your posts aloud. Record them. Listen to them. Ask yourself if, assuming you were a non-Christian, your approach would inspire a desire to become a Christian or a desire to punch out your lights.

Do you think Christ preached as you do?

Chris,
I am giving God the room to work on everyone here without clouding things and alienating people with my own "version" of the gospel. I stand for Jesus as you know. But I don't stand with those who have been taken over by a spirit of judgement. I think the christian church has been lured into a spirit of judgement and have alienated much of the nation as a result. In politics and in other areas also. The word also says "mercy triumphs over judgement". That means mercy will win more hearts Chris. Judgement will not win more hearts. Also those who show mercy will also receive mercy, but those who judge will be judged by those same standards that they set. I want to avoid that trap as I may not be as "good" as I think and set a higher standard than I can achieve myself. I would rather receive mercy, so that's how I try to live it. I avoid the judgement trap.

Like you, I just say this in hopes you will see a better way.

PS. BTW, there is some vile filth here, I click on my friend. But most of it doesn't scare me. Jesus's ministry was to save that which was lost without reference to judgement. He passed that ministry to us. Without reference to judgement is illustrated throughout the NT. One example, the adulteress. Jesus did not judge her even though she was caught in the act. He forgave her sins, period. Why did they bring her to Him? To test Him. Test Him how? To see if He would uphold the Law. But the Law is all about judgement, they knew that. They also must have known it was contrary to Jesus's ministry or it would not have been a test. He had to not violate the Law, but also not judge the woman. He did that by throwing it back on the pharisees (the "righteous ones" of the day). They were the ones of anyone who may not have any sin. But they all left after Jesus said you who are without sin cast the first stone. They judged themselves rightly and could not condemn her.
