I didn't think that I'd create such a stir with my comments about Volvo! I guess I should have been more specific.

Yes, only the automobile operations of Volvo were sold to Ford. At the present time Volvo Cars is being operated as a company separate from Ford; however, according to an article in Automobile, Ford is looking to begin some joint manufacturing/purchasing/shared platform ventures between the Mercury Line and the Volvo line. [This pains me greatly being a long time Volvo owner/addict/enthusiast.] The greater remaining parent company of VOLVO is with whom MRPS has their contract relationship.

I was just commenting that SSA apparently (absent-mindedly) included the severed automobile branch without checking facts first. It is now an easy mistake to make. Most people in the US equate Volvo with autos, not large transport. (Though since Volvo acquired White/GMC the average interstate motorist, if astute, will have noticed many "big rigs" now sport the Volvo badge and diagonal stripe of honor.)

Alas, the point I was merely trying to make was that the PR's really need to have all of the details correct. In the current fast-paced business environment, industry affiliations can change daily. I want MRPS and its associates to be seen as a professional, knowledgeable operation which disseminates wholly accurate information.

I guess I'll go back to lurking now.
