Sal,

He was not granted additional options;he exercised options and sold those shares...both amounts equal 51340. Exercise and sale for executives is part of their compensation. This is not generally considered a significant marker.

When he sells is more a function of the window during which he is allowed to sell, which is generally a short window between the end of the last quarter and the first day of the last month in the current quarter.

In fact, they were not exercisable until May 6, 1999...
".....These options become exercisable as to 34% of the shares on May 6,
1999 and as to an additional 11.0% each quarter thereafter until
November 6, 2000...."(source:SEC Proxy)

Yes. He could have held some of those options until 2008 but instead exercised them within weeks after they became exercisable. Interesting. Anyone know what his role is with Ampex? Is he in Data Systems?

Of course executives do this all the time if they need the money, and it isn't a usually a significant event.

Carl

<<Insider selling at these stage indicates to me that nothing BIG is around the proverbial corner>>

Not me Sal. I think this is great news. Finally we are beginning to act like an INET stock. Go look at some of the internet stocks for insider selling. Here are the links for AOL and EBAY. I missed the big run on both of these stocks because of the insider selling - I'll be darned if I will let it scare me in AXC. It is a strong buy signal for me. I expect more insider selling and it won't slow me down from buying. I bought again at $4 and I'll be staying on the buy side. Check it out! The only think we lack now is our PE is WAY too low - we need about a triple in price before it even starts to come in line!

AOL insider action <see any buyers?> LOTS of sellers!

biz.yahoo.com

EBAY <3 buyers - dozens of sellers>

biz.yahoo.com

Most of the internet stocks I have looked at are the same. So when anyone comes out here selling WOLF tickets - I think you can count on the fact that they are looking for cheap shares - but at these prices I'm not risking that they will get cheaper. I missed the last big run because I was bargain hunting. I'm getting on the train now - while it is still at the station!
