"10 years is a really, really long time. There's no telling what all we will be doing wirelessly 10 years from now. Anyone have any thoughts on that?"

My guess is just about everything considered last mile or final connect to the user. The internet will be like radio it will be everywhere. Even in the household with portable web browsing devices that would allow you to sit on the back porch sipping coffee and reading the news.

Consider how much of the workforce is mobile. From road salesmen to field based labor, truck drivers to washer repairmen.

As it stands today if your an employee and you don't have an office/desk you probably don't have a computer and if you do it is not connected, at least not all the time. Connecting them to the "system" can bring efficiency gains in a lot of areas from payroll to inventory and beyond.

I think for these folks, small, power efficient, wireless and inexpensive "dumb terminals" will be the ticket.
