Interesting read on the long bond issue copied from RB's Gator:

>>Long Bond Yields Hit 6.0% <<

When Asian crisis hit in Sept 97, the long bond yield was at 6.6%.
Now this crisis has passed, where should the bond yield be?

They raised rates by .25 just before the Thai bhat crisis in the Spring. The Dow slid 11% and Nasdaq almost 20% in the period just before and just after the rate hike, about 4 weeks. Everyone thought that the rate hike was factored in after the Fed jawboning of December/January. A similar decline would bring both back to support lines near 10,100 and 2224, respectively.

Kind of interesting, huh
