In truth, Jeff, the best time to buy some of these (For *investment* purposes) is when no one will touch them. That is, if they are solid companies. I remember when no one wanted IBM at 47 (I bought it and everyone told me I was crazy and so I sold it at 45 for a loss ... within several months it was more than double ... and you know the rest.)

>>>My mother begged me to buy this dog....I fought her very hard...but it's her money.
>>> She's in @ 24. What support this thing is headed to 17-18 very soon. Dead money for
atleast 8mos. There are so many negatives I don't know why anyone would go near it? <<<

am thinking a stop loss at 22 5/16 ... but doubt that it will go lower
if wrong ... will take the loss.

but 17 support? sheesh that from the middle ages in 1997, which has little bearing on today's prices

you should listen to your mom, jeff <gggg>

in this day and age ... sentiment changes like the wind

one day a winner ... next day a looser

such a crap shoot ... this market

ORCL is an interesting situation. It ran up strongly after Ellison's bullish comments, turned back from resistance near 30 and sold off yesterday and today. According to the Street.com, there has been heavy put buying.

Earnings are due 6/15 after the bell. Even a wild man like Ellison wouldn't risk raising expectations in the way he did unless earnings were indeed pretty good (I think). Anyway, it's worth putting on the screen to see if there's any hint of a pre-earnings movement.
