Geac Announces the Acquisition of Cybergraphic Systems

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--Geac Computer Corporation Limited today announced that it has agreed to acquire Melbourne, Australia based Cybergraphic Systems Limited (http://www.cybergraphic.com) for approximately C$16 million.

With offices in England, Asia/Pacific, and North America, Cybergraphic is an international provider of integrated information management solutions for editorial, advertising, pagination and Internet functions of the publishing industry. Cybergraphic's revenues have grown at over 20 percent per year for the most recent 3 fiscal years to a current run rate of C$22 million. Its customers include major newspaper groups - Hollinger, Knight-Ridder, News Corp. and the Fairfax Group, which together publish recognized journals such as the Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian, the Montreal Gazette and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Cybergraphic's client/server solutions combine editorial and classified advertising management which allow its clients to operate in a streamlined electronic production environment that increases their productivity while lowering the total cost of ownership.
