Nice post! - and all, right on the mark.

The thing to keep in mind is, not all of the delay is in the PROP TIME through the network. Most of the serious delays are due to queues in the routers (when the net is busy), not the prop time in the links between them. Which effects ALL data delivery networks. So the question to ask is, how good is their NETWORK (how much equipment, how many & what type of links, how many routers, how well engineered). Networks that run with switches at their core (e.g. ATM backbone) can run much faster than networks built strictly with routers. -Steve
