Jenne,

You seem to be heavily involved in the Nets--you would not take even 0% over the last 5-6 weeks? My Net basket doing much, much worse than 6% annually since the middle of April!

Ahhaha's theory will be dead on if we do not get back to new highs this month, or at least very close. I know the bull run is marked by higher higher and higher lows. This last correction went to previous lows.

ATHM, AOL, and RNWK are prime examples of stocks that are WAY off their previous highs. If the next run puts ATHM at 150-160, perhaps the next correction takes us substantially below 90?

Not 100% in agreement with him, but you never know. That's the game aspect.

There are times when you don't put your money anywhere. The point is to preserve capital. It is the first axiom that any investor must learn. This concept has been almost completely forgotten, and so it will have to be learned again the hard way.

Jenne,
>>>>>>OK.. that said, where then do you put your money.. 6% isnt very encouraging compared to the
return in the stock market..

6% will look very good, not just very good, but great, if the Mr Market goes down by 20-25%. That would mean the average Mutual Fund investor will probably lose 30-35%; and those who invest in individual stocks or Traders, may be down by more than 50% in their portfolios. What happens next! well, fear of poverty sets in, you loose sleep and temper along with it. You start cutting back on expenses but your spouse who is not responsible for household investments,it is business as usual. The short temper getting shorter by every business day. Arguments and accusation starts and resulting strain on marriages. Just speaking from small dose of personal experience. In such environments if you are breaking even in your portfolio you feel like a million bucks-- A HERO.
