<<You want to hold me responsible fine knock yourself out.>>

This isn't clean Gary. There are lots of approaches that could be considered to deal with arbitrage. You are considering only one. Raise the exercise price to five dollars. Your rational is clear. It brings potentially millions into the company. This makes MIDL much more attractive for a merger and consequently the value of the commons is increased. DUH.. How is that? The duped W holders pay millions out of their pockets for your benefit.

The five dollars does not change anything. In order for W holders to exercise them the stock value has to at least exceed 5 dollars. This is the whole concept of Ws. Buy them now. Someday the stock will be worth lots more. Then you can exercise them and reap the benefits. In which case your solution to arbitrage has done nothing. They will be exercised some day at a price beneath the common.
