ed:True,doing business in 'those' countries were a nightmare in the old days not that it is a picnic now but a lot better,hell you can even repatriate profits now from India and they allow 100% ownership by foreign firms in most of the industries. I think you still need a local partner in the middle-east. I have done business with the Chinese (through Hong Kong) for a while without much problems,done it with middle-east but wasn't all that lucky there. For me the easiest one to deal with was the Scandinavians,Swedes in particular.I sold my business a few years ago to a Swedish outfit,never signed any agreement,no lawyers no nothing,the whole thing was done on a hand shake,well then again mine was a very small company.
