Hes probably trying to leverage the Dellware site into a retail portal. Dell doesn't get any credit for that even though they sell so much over the web, whereas Amazon does. The problem is Dellware is not what Amazon is in terms of design and the customer base for Dell online sales is already computer/internet savvy vs. Amazon. If amzn did this they could pick up more customers but not Dell, its just a freebie. The last time I looked cpq was still the most overvalued of the boxmakers though - at least Dell is gaining mkt share.

No, it is more complicated than that Mo. It is an inut deal to try and sell boxes. Think phone company per minute charges and kickbacks. That is the scheme, which wouldn't apply to any one with a brain in the US, if you have a local port where it doesn't cost you money to keep the line open. The Brits charge you major coin to call locally and it is length based.

This was a senseless move IMO. Getting a little frustrated w/ DELL strategy (as opposed to the equity price) lately ... but the smb section progress was so heartening!
