Sorry, truedog, for not making myself clear: I was referring to the Civil War, although it is true that paleos are usually anti- union in the other sense, and neocons are usually moderately pro- union. The paleos, while making the obligatory acknowledgement of slavery as an evil, often are nostalgic for the "aristocratic culture" of the Old South, and believe that the Confederate states had the right to secede. Neocons certainly revere Lincoln...Anyway, as I said, most of the neos simply became pro- capitalist, and the ones who did not remain in the Democratic Party, or no party...
