Didn't take long for traders to forget about 6.0% on the long bond, as techs
recaptured Tuesday's declines on the back of a strong chip sector... News that the
Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) ramped up its growth forecast for
FY1999 worldwide chip sales by 3% to 12.1% encouraged a stampede of buying...
Would be the first time since 1995 that industry achieved double-digit sales
growth... More encouragement came from fact that Asian/Japanese sales were
projected to grow by 16%+... Same can be said for worldwide growth in FY00
