Speculative technological Uses of the Micro OS

I thought I would share some of my "hindsight" with everyone with how the Micro OS/EPAC could become endorsed by Sun Microsystems and utilized in conjunction with EmbeddedJava ...

Sun Microsystems is RAPIDLY "pushing the envelope" of EmbeddedJava technology in consumer devices. Companies to enter license agreements include Lucent, Tektronix and Wind River Systems.
The "configurable" Java environment will allow developers (i.e. myself) to build embedded consumer and industrial devices, i.e. Cell Phones, Pagers, telephony equipment, handhelds, etc. The marriage of the Micro OS/EPAC is so readable here that I bet something has already been discussed with Sun.

Sun was the leader in assembling the OSGI (Open
System Gateway Initative) as the industries 1st open interface for connecting consumer and small business applications with the Internet. Others which I found out who joined Sun include IBM and Lucent. These specifications will give device makers a "vendor-neutral" connection interface from LAN-to-WANs. So what does this mean for e.Digital?

This could allow e.Digital's Micro OS to be the File System utilized by the developers to interact with the device system. A developer could write a application once and run it on ANY DEVICE. The Micro OS can run on ANY DEVICE. The ability to connect TWO DEVICE INDEPENDANT TECHNOLOGIES could be a HUGE step for e.Digital in garnishing a "working" relationship with Sun Microsystems. Both technologies can be licensed and utilized by MANY MANUFACTURERS.

Sun has also developed the JAIN (Java In Advanced Intelligent Networks). JAIN is essentialy a telecommunications industry framework which is based on Sun's JavaBeans component architecture.
Why is this important to e.Digital? Lucent is already developing a wireless network to transmit data&voice at speeds in the terebits utilizing micro waves. Intel/IBM/e.Digital all want into the voice-to-text and Text-to-voice emerging market. What better way to integrate the Lucent Micro Wave Network with a handheld device utilzing the Micro OS and JAIN !!!

All these are just thoughts of mine ... but the uses of the Micro OS are unlimited ... EOM
