Richard; thanks for your response

>>>1) Suggest count start at major high or low.<<< agreed; suggesting that the supply demand pattern has shifted... for IPOs I start counting at the start (seems to make it more straight-forward

>>>2) I would say not. We don't know what institutions do or not do. All data on them is
out of date, subject to change. You might filter out any stocks with more than 25%
institution ownership.<<<< I seek to find them with as little as possible... one reason to focus on IPO takes them out of the picture..

>>>>3)Float turnover is not as important as volume/float percent turnover.<<<< I agree that this is key.. (since I have come to the same conclusion <G>) I have seen most reversals occur off of a whole number percentage 100, 200, etc and have seen it go on for, in 1 case, 11 turns,

OTOH... I have also seem it turn "mid stream" ... thus suggesting that this is not an absolute... only another indicator.

>>>> 4)I wouldn't worry about it, you can't measure it. a monthly snap shot is all we get. <<<< another reason I focus on IPO .. no (or little apparent) influence of shorts .. taken out of the picture..

For "entertainment" I have been investigating CELL (which doesn't satisfy the above criteria) a Major DCB candidate 42M float 32M traded on drop date...2 x float having traded in following 2 weeks or so.. I'm looking into DCB since they seem to offer a "new beginning" a place at which the supply demand characteristics are completely reestablished

If you work on these studies ... I'd appreciate how you would look at CELL or how you might view sudden drops..
