Peter,

Instrumentarium is a Finnish company.

instrumentarium.com.

A quick look at their income statement makes me think they might be a good short too! Decreasing revenues on increasing sales. Major rights offering last year in order to finance the purchase of Ohmeda which appears to be higly dilutative, but I only scanned the prospectus so I may be missing something.

Trades on the Helsinki exchange, with ADRs for their "B" shares on NASDAQ.

3.8b FIM in top line revenues last year. Anybody know what that is in dollars?

mg

<<I'm assuming the stock will spike on the news>>

I hope so since I'll be placing a large short order in before the open. Unfortunately, I believe that this will be a situation similar to Earthshell (ERTH - another stock I've been short since 10 a share). ERTH was similarly pumped on rumors of a "deal". They announced a not-so-spectalar deal after the close of trading, and i couldn't get a single uptick the following morning.

datex-omeda sells anesthesia machines and co2 and gas analizers used in anesthesia. they are well known in that field. The hospital I work in does deliver babies so I will try and find out if omeda has a presence in equipment for newborn nurseries.

Talk about great minds .... <GG>

I see you posted your comment here before I made mine on the CCSI thread #reply-10052449. From the number of others who are saying the same thing, this may be too obvious a short to manage much of a gap in the AM. Anyway, I've put in a couple of limit orders. We'll see what happens.
