Hi Duker and thread,

He cited the decline of the PC portion of the chip market, which dropped to 26.7% in 1998 from 31.8% in 1997, according to Dataquest. He said the decline came at the hands of a communications equipment market that grew to 17.7% last year from 16.4 the year before.

31.8 - 26.7 = 5.1

17.7 - 16.4 = 1.3

5.1 - 1.3 = 3.8

It seems that Rinnen:
1) can't do simple math
2) was misquoted
3) is holding out on us as to the magic, mysterious 3.8%.
4) is about as accurate as the Dept. of Labor
