Office 2000 ...

I noticed several BIG advertisements in today's paper offering a number of non-MSFT packages FREE with the purchase of O2K. Also a bit of MSFT advertising for O2K upgrades. I'd only spend money on upgrading if I could see new benefits worth the cost. I cannot imagine the majority of people publish web documents and I sincerely hope that Office97 didn't fail so often that the 'self-repair' feature would provide much upgrade motivation.

However, I do think the 'load-as-needed' feature would be nice. I've wrestled with getting the features I've needed moved from the CD to my system, and I would have seen real benefit from having this awkward process automated.

As far as 'cleaning-up' Outlook, I agree with some recent posters that this program needed some additional work. In my estimation, it just didn't 'fit' Office97 very well.

I'll wait for additional feedback from O2K acceptance by the public. Like so much stuff from Redmond, I expect this to be a huge success overall, wether I upgrade or not.

Thanks, Fred
