I can't tell if the 3500 will be a 100% hardware or hardware/software solution :( The DVD will be a software solution. If you have a high-end PC it won't matter though. The software solutions are visually on par as long as your CPU can handle it. I've actually seen a couple of reviews where the reviewer was more impressed with the visuals when he turned of acceleration and let the CPU handle the job. You may need a separate card if you've got a low end PC or are concerned about multitasking while watching/recording video. Pat
