Yes we are. Don't shut the tail in the door. Earlier Stumpy jumped up on the kitchen counter chasing some flying thing, which he loves to do. I yelled at him.

"Get down!!!"

Plop.

"BAD kitty. BAD."

He hates that. That bad kitty word. He hates it.

He sulks.

He runs up the stairs to the safety of the bed, where he will NOT be picked on.

I've only smacked him twice. It's unbearable. You can't do it. "Bad kitty" is enough. If you swat him, he gets the most unbearably sad hang-dog expression. He droops, like all the life has been sucked out of him.

I swatted him just the other day, time number two, for jumping on the old cat. He wants her to move, or play, or who knows. It hurts her. Bones. He was shocked. He ran over to the bottom of the stairs, and sat down looking up them, and then leaned his head clear back around over his shoulder and looked at me like I had broken his very heart; and he cried. He was sobbing. His eyes looked terrible. I couldn't take it. I've never seen a cat look that sad in my life.

"Oh get out of here."
