<<"BAD kitty. BAD."

He hates that. That bad kitty word. He hates it. >>

Wish mine did.

I can see how you might empathize.

And some psychologists and philosophers call this view of animal behavior "sentimentality" or "pathetic fallacy." Friends of animals know otherwise. Animals know a lot of words and ideas and associate them with learning. Pick up a shotgun around my GSHPointer Graf and he became completely focused. He looked at my clothes and expected trap or hunting. Hard to say which he preferred. If I shot a hundred clay birds he would chase every one until it (or nearly always pieces of it) landed. Sometimes he'd catch bits and retrieve them. If it was hunting he was ready, freezing rain or snow (he knew I didn't shoot trap in the snow.) I never knew a braver, more couragous, more loyal soul. He had a grand pose when I called him "Nobel Dog." He was proud and beautiful. My best friend ever.
