Who are the "press" behind such stories? There are very influential companies (Kodak, Fuji, etc.) who don't want the silver price to rise.

One way to track the market would be to talk with several sizeable coin dealers to see if there really is an increase in offerings of old coin.

Personally, I very much doubt the public is selling old coin just to make an additional dollar!

And yes, I'm increasingly impressed with silver's resilience around the $5.00 area. With Asia's economies now showing good signs of recovery I figure silver demand will accelerate again. The remainder of 1999 and into 2000 could be very favourable to silver.
