Siemens denies Cabletron takeover report
Reuters Story - June 10, 1999 05:30
MUNICH, June 10 (Reuters) - German industrial group Siemens AG on Thursday rejected a newspaper report that it was eyeing U.S. computer network firm Cabletron .

"There is nothing to that," a Siemens spokeswoman told Reuters. "We can deny that."

Earlier German daily Sueddeutschen Zeitung reported on the Internet, via its SZ Finanz information service, that the German firm was interested in acquiring Cabletron and had already offered $22-26 per share for it.
