It will require a converter chip to support PC100 or PC133, which makes it a high latency and high cost solution comparing to a straight PC133 chipset." My understanding is that Camino (or some varient) does support PC100 directly. If not then I can see what you guys are talking about. Even if that is the case they could use some other chipset but that would be somewhat of a setback. So, one of us is misinformed - Could someone on the thread set us right with the correct answer? While RAMBUST RAM looks pitiful right now, it will eventually take over us because * Intel has invested $1,000,000,000 into memory makers * Practically everyone who is anyone in Silicon Vallery (at least that is my impression because I don't exactly know) has licensed the technology from RAMBUST * Intel's PCOAC will have some type of DRDRAM controller onboard which I think means it will only work w/that RAM * I believe someone here posted that the Alpha 21364 will have that kind of controller also * Intel is powerful.
