TERN has been trading well below its 50 and 100 day averages
and is still well below its April and May highs. That said,
if there is a 4 - 5 point pullback, I'm back in.

What about Qcoms 58 pt move? It maintained its gains. CNXT moved 15% yesterday also?

The market can make those statements. It does it all the time. The Qualcomm example is a good one. If you've owned your own company, then you know market capitalization is not tied exactly to the "true" value of your firm. If TERN does drop back at all, I'll be adding. As it stands, my average cost is still higher than where we are now (proof that I, for one, cannot time the market :-)

I don't disagree with you, having been a victim of that mentality myself on occasion. I do have a couple of responses, however. First, I was simply attempting to answer a question: what made the stock jump? Gilder's most recent newsletter seemed to be a contributing factor. Second, Gilder is not a pump and dump hypester. He looks for companies with disruptive/asendent technologies. He advocate buying and holding these companies. He first added TERN to his list of telecosm companies in December 1998; his June letter simply highlighted the company's recent achievements. Among his other recommendations are UNPH, QCOM, CNXT, BRCM, AMCC, ATML.

Optmaster, Surely there are some who hope to gain from "greed-mentum" ....
But others do realize that Tern has a "lock" on
a technology that is unmatched by, and needed by, an increasingly
larger number of Cable Modem / broadband manufacturers.

It's a question of how do we value this company, and when or if
we feel that Tern is a reasonable investment, with a bright future.

If I hadn't been too cheap to invest in GG's letter sooner,
I would not be now buying at today's prices.

Best Regards,

Mardy.
