As a Microsoft Office 2000 Launch Partner, Dell systems running Office 2000 will be promoted by Microsoft to its Office 2000 users. Those systems include Dell(R) OptiPlex(R) desktop and Latitude(R) notebook PCs for businesses, and Dimension(R) desktop and Inspiron(R) notebook PCs for consumers and small businesses. "Dell has worked with Microsoft to deliver a premier product that maximizes the benefits and capabilities of Office 2000 running on Dell systems," said Chris Imler, vice president of Dell's Worldwide Software Operations. "The web-based capabilities of Office 2000 help our customers use and leverage the Internet in their daily business and personal lives." Certain customers who purchased Office 97 Small Business Edition or Professional Edition during the first part of 1999 can be eligible for a free upgrade to the applicable version of Microsoft Office 2000.
