The study by the University of Texas says the Internet economy generated $301 billion in revenue in 1998, an amount much larger and growing faster than previously estimated... The study also concludes the Web economy also created 1.2 million jobs last year. Compared with the $8.6 trillion U.S. economy, the Internet's $301 billion might not seem very big.
