CMGI Sees 14 Firms Potentially IPOing Within 2 Yrs (CMGI) - Report
(NewsTraders.com)-- CMGI Inc.'s (CMGI) deep portfolio of Internet startups is lined with 14 companies that could sell shares to the public within the next 24 months, according to the Boston Globe.
Highlights:

- "We've never been more optimistic about the Internet business in general," said Bill White, CMGI's marketing director.

- CMGI has investments in about 40 young Internet companies from around the country and reviews about 1,000 business plans per month, showing there is no shortage of firms looking to come under its wing.

- The company is expected to make presentations early next week at investor conferences hosted by U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray and Bear Stearns.

- The potential IPO hopefuls include Raging Bull, MotherNature.com, Engage, Chemdex, Furniture.com, Ancestry.com, NaviSite, and ICast.
