NKorea ships return after being driven away

<< South Korea earlier said four of its vessels pushed the four North Korean boats back over the border by repeatedly ramming them after the North Korean vessels intruded into southern waters for a fifth consecutive day.

The two Koreas remain technically at war across the world's most militarised frontier because their 1950-53 conflict ended in an armed truce and not a peace agreement.

''We adopted a bump and push tactic between 11:40 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. (0240 GMT and 0310 GMT) which pushed four North Korean patrol boats back into their territory,'' said Col. Hwang Dong-kyu, spokesman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
