Well it is like this,Freeserve (Dixon) took the lead from AOL almost overnight by just offering 'Free' Internet service in U.K,so obviously there is a demand for the service in spite of the per minute charges.

A lot of of people fail to understand is this,Dell's objective is not to beat AOL and become a leading ISP but rather to sell PCs and peripherals and gain marketshare and judging from the success of Freeserve there is definitely a demand for the 'Free' service.

According to IDC even if Dell only gets to sign on Dell customers it is certainly going to create a dent in the market place and that sound good to me anyway you look at it.

As for 'per minute' charges in Europe I think it is only a matter of time that these these charges are be completely eliminated or reduced substantially.Last time checked there is growing movement among internet users in Europe against this exorbitant charges by Telecoms. So either Telecoms will have to comply or the 'wireless thing' will do it for them is what I am thinking.
