AT&T, NBC to make programming announcement
Telephone and cable giant AT&T Corp. (NYSE:T) and General Electric Co.'s (NYSE:GE) NBC television unit are set to announce on Thursday a long-term deal tied to NBC cable programming. The companies issued a news advisory saying they planned to hold a conference call at 2:30 p.m. EDT Thursday to unveil a deal involving the "analog and digital future of NBC program services." Participating in the teleconference will be Leo Hindery, the president and chief executive of AT&T Broadband & Internet Services (BIS), the cable operating arm of AT&T, the advisory said. He will be joined by David Zaslav, the president of cable distribution for NBC, and Tom Rogers, the president of NBC Cable and executive vice president of NBC. --Reuters
