Maurice, I completely agree with your take on Iridium. The current equity holders are toast. The only thing holding things together IMO is that the banks are trying to figure out what they can salvage. A bankruptcy wipes out the gateway partners making the system completely worthless. However, the sats will not just sit there. Somehow someway someone will sell minutes on them at a competitive rate. It will be interesting from an academic standpoint to see how it unfolds. I think internally they have already thrown in the towel and Mot is pulling away. The cancelation "delay" of the Long March launches and Mot "redirecting" Teledisic personnel tells it all.

Unfortunetely, we will not see significant price appreciation in G* until Wall Street is convinced of market demand. Iridium's parting gift to us is dead money for a few more weeks for sure.
