of its e-commerce division to launch and guide the growth of the

The announcement follows the beta-testing of The General Store's

August 1, 1999.
According to The General Store CEO Glen Easthope, the e-commerce
operating unit will ensure the seamless integration of online shopping
with the Company's existing ordering and distribution system.
"At The General Store we are committed to developing convenient,
cost-effective means of shopping for the consumer," Easthope said.
"As we approach the year 2000, the average age of consumers is
increasing dramatically and consumers are searching for solutions to
manage their leisure time more effectively," he said. "The General
Store e-commerce site is another effective and convenient means of
marrying leading-edge technology with old-fashioned service to benefit
the consumer."

CARATTMDVD-TV/PC system, which is an evolution in online shopping for
both the general population and the 9 million blind and disabled
consumers across North America.
