Telekol's Integrax Gives Business Users Access and Management of Messages Through the Web
WALTHAM, Mass., Jun 7, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE via COMTEX) -- Providing Web support to its signature unified messaging application IntegraMail is indicative of Telekol's focused commitment to integrating all of its products to the Web and leveraging the efficiencies and cost-savings the Internet offers. Says Ram Metser, president of Telekol: "We are standing on the threshold of an exciting new industry - Intelligent Communications. The companies that serve this industry will be challenged to provide complex solutions that 'intelligently' handle communications between a customer and a business, leveraging the power of the Internet and emerging converged networks. "IntegraX is the only platform," continues Metser, "that can offer today to users accessibility and management of messages and calls regardless of whether they're using the regular telephone network or the Internet. Network convergence is coming because of the cost-savings and effectiveness that can be realized. Our IntegraX is built for existing and emerging networks and technologies, and supports a growing body of applications that add significant value to their users. Our unified messaging, intelligent call processing, and transaction processing solutions are the most advanced in the marketplace today."
IntegraNet provides access and management of voice messages, e-mails, and faxes stored on a Microsoft Exchange server. Mailbox owners can access and manage their messages from any Internet-connected PC, using any major Web browser. IntegraNet uses streaming audio based on standard protocols, and works in conjunction with Microsoft Outlook Web access. Leveraging the look and feel of the Microsoft Outlook or Exchange Inbox interface, Telekol has added special icons and message header information to display the message type, sender, subject, date, and the time the message was received.
"Telekol's seamless integration of their unified messaging solution with Outlook's interface, and further providing Web access to these powerful tools, gives knowledge workers exciting new ways to access information stored in Exchange Server, the leading platform for unified messaging today," says Dave Malcolm, group product manager for Exchange Server. "With access to information virtually anywhere in the world regardless of what device is available to them, companies can increase their customer responsiveness and overall competitiveness."
Targeted to the mobile professional or user who works from a remote location, IntegraNet is also ideal for users on shared PCs, who are assured of privacy because IntegraNet does not download messages to the client, using instead streaming audio. Users not only just view their messages, but also manage them regardless of which device they're using:
--with access from the phone users can listen to voice messages, hear e-mails through text-to-speech technology, and forward faxes to a fax machine convenient to the caller
--with access from a PC, users can listen to voice messages if their PC is sound-enabled and read e-mails and faxes
Message management is in the complete control of the user. Whether by phone or PC, users can delete messages, organize them by a range of options such as type or date, and send messages mixing media as necessary, such as attaching a voice mail to an e-mail message. IntegraNet is offered on its IntegraX Enterprise platform. Telekol is the first company to offer a unified messaging solution integrated with Microsoft's Exchange, Outlook, and Inbox, and the first to offer Internet access and management of unified messaging.
