That little plastic thingie on pizzas is, I believe, a landing pad for flies. Although my kitties have used it as a stepping stone so as not to get cheese on their feet when they walk across the pizza. Thanks, although I have been finding them useful as rostrums/rostra (Webster's accepts both plurals I find) for my online flea circus. Setting up a webcam as we speak, but so far what with the lack of a really good zoom, the show seems kind of on the boring side. But I know this one is IPO material sooner or later.
