lee ot ot ot re: "jpns consumer will start spending once they see prices going up"....prices on what????

obvious coming from one who hasn't a clue of the japanese culture and consumer. on balance they are savers,do not rush into any purchases, price not important as in the usa, quality and service over price, this is a society in which the majority of housewives still buy food on a daily basis for the evening meal, what will they rush to spend on???? housing, cars, appliances????? where will they put these new "i better buy before the prices go up" items????? not much room to stock up in a thirty square meter flat in an urban area...

i posted a recent comment from my jpns liason office...the mindset of the jpns business man is at a low point, as of last week, no light at the end of the tunnel, in the "real" world..
