RHAT IPO may do well despite the corporate philosophy and the Linux community disdain for Red Hat. You see, they have a key ingredient for most successful IPOs...Brand Name Recognition. (for ex. EBAY, PCLN, ETYS.) Another plus is if they are the first Linux software company to IPO, that's half the battle. Developers and support people will follow the money!

There seems to be a lot of backlash in the Linux community about Red Hat, judging from the article you posted. How do you think that will affect Red Hat's future? If they can't get the best Linux developers and support people, they don't have much of one IMO.

Many Linux starry-eyes hate Microsoft because they dare to make a profit off the OS and, since no one profits from Linux, Linux is Good. Now they lose that argument. Notice that the idiot who was quoted is upset because a business wants to make money instead of being non-profit philanthropic organization.
