I'll be honest with you. Like you I am very suspicious of a strong lobby. Especially if they are arming themselves. The NRA, as a group, is scary sounding to me. The armed people in my neighborhood are not NRA members and probably don't vote. These people are personally scary. I guess I prefer to live with a group that is organised and regulated, knowing my neighbors as I do. Scary or not, I am greatful for the NRA because it is out in the open for us all to critisize and do something about. I am for registering guns to. I thought the arguement the NRA was making was that there are plenty of laws for that already and the new ones don't add anything but more govt employees, and beauracracy. No?

How will gun registration change violence in America in any way Michelle? The criminals will be the only ones ignoring registration and committing the crimes.

What leads you to this belief? Is there ONE study which supports liberal claims that registering guns and limiting our freedom will lead to a safer America??

Of course there isn't. The most controlled place with regard to gun ownership is Moscow. And they lead the world in violent crimes.

Challenge your assumptions and think beyond the 6.7 second sound bite Michelle. You want to limit a freedom, a RIGHT. Then demonstrate some evidence that it will be successful. Do you have any?

Then there is Australia. When they enacted gun registration, violent crimes shot up 400%.

You want to limit violent crimes? Start with stricter enforcement of the laws, and punishing people who commit them. Passing another law is not the answer. It may feeeeeel good but there is no evidence at all it will work.

Michael

Here's some more things to "like" about the Clinton presidency:

Here is Bill Clinton's legacy of mistreatment of women.

The common threads are that, almost to a woman:

(1) they had some vulnerability that he could exploit.
(2) they were victims of a smear campaign, and
(3) there is an eerie similarity to the stories they tell of intimidation, threats, and burglaries of odd items, such as photographs and tapes.
