<<dell outsources service, a high profit component..ibm and hwp service is theirs...alliance with ibm as many on the thread tout as great for dell, will be better for ibm. dell is a customer of ibm, and hwp...a bit bizarre isn't it...to depend on your "enemy" for survival >>

Dell has built the largest customer base in the last two years. IBM is dependent on Dell as Dell continues to make inroads into traditional IBM territory. IBM has lost accounts to Dell; Dell now owns the territory. As IBM you either play with the new property owner or you get left out. Dell had other service vendors from which to choose. They choose IBM for some forms relative to their expertise and reach. IBM would have needed to cut if Dell hadn't offered. who is gifting whom?

first time i've heard a semantic game from you.
