Quantum Corporation invites all members of the press to witness
several new data storage solutions optimized for desktop applications
at PC EXPO '99. This first-time appearance at the show is marked by
several exciting demonstrations that illustrate the versatility and
reliability of all Quantum products.
Quantum will publicly present its Fireball(TM) CX hard drive and
DLT 8000 tape drive for the first time. High-end computer games loaded
onto the Fireball CX will demonstrate its performance and storage
capacity. The newest member of the industry-leading, best-selling
DLTtape(TM) family, the DLT 8000 drive, will be featured in a
demonstration that shows the ease of use in backing up and restoring
files.
Exhibiting independently in the Quantum booth, Meridian Data
Inc., a leading provider of network-attached storage (NAS) solutions,
will demonstrate the newest award-winning Snap! Server. In May 1999,
Quantum announced its intentions to acquire Meridian Data Inc.
Six lucky show visitors will win one of three Quantum Fireball
hard drives or one of three Meridian Data Snap! Servers by registering
for the drawing at the Quantum booth.
Quantum will also illustrate the adaptability of its Atlas(TM)
low-voltage differential (LVD) hard drives and Rushmore(TM)
solid-state disks as it presents a demonstration in a variety of
configurations including in a non-linear video editing system. This
application will demonstrate how Quantum's Atlas hard disk drives
deliver broadcast quality video with sustained data transfers greater
than 200 megabytes per second.
