Monish,

True, in the urban areas most recent development in computerized and vulnerable. For example, the telephone system in Calcutta was recently computerized (but still is down most of the time). Given the levels of power crisis the metropolitan areas have prior to Y2K anyway I am sure that every single business has alternative arrangements. I know that for a fact in Calcutta, not sure about Bombay.

How can you make a broken system any worse? ;-)
