But today, with bigger % of folks in index funds, the lack of gold funds available to most people, lower number of XAU members in S&P and anti-gold hype, just don't understand how anyone can read anything from T/A of XAU.

In October 1987 the gold stocks had had a large run up - I remember being in my broker's office and looking at all the charts and they were showing the same sort of upward patterns as most other stocks - and not acting and kicking myself later for not seeing the signs. We don't have the same situation now - the opposite in fact, and I would expect gold stocks to act contra market this time if we have a sharp decline - not forgetting margin calls of course. d
