Agreed. But I'm biased and have the opinion that Java will be more widely used than C++ in the not too distant future. If HP doesn't get it together with Java then they will not be the platform of choice.

Regardless, I still know many more companies that use Solaris for their web servers and don't actually know one that uses HP.

Netscape salesmen that I spoke with recently laughed at the suggestion of maybe wanting to use an HP platform for a web app. Netscape has a large part of the web server market and their salesmen are obviously pushing the Solaris platform.
