Yes, except they've been beaten to the mark. They've reported that a Canadian firm appears to have snatched the license for Blue Ribbon right from under their noses. The Canadian firm's agreement with Pabst starts in 2003, just when CBRB's expires, and runs for the next 30 years. * If * CBRB can negotiate a sublicense from the Canadian firm, then they might be in good shape, depending on the terms. If they can't... well, I'd hate to speculate.

Also, do you realize that CBRB may have significant ownership stakes in their China operations, but they do not control these operations? (At least this is how I've interpreted the information I've seen.) Ownership, without control, is a very dangerous recipe.
