They are restricted shares you need to cover the short with something else in your account until they are unrestricted. I you can meet the Short and Margin requirements you can short the company.

re: san-castle saw the product didn't get an indepth look at it, so no comment.

Roy, my understanding is that BRCD will be marginable in another two weeks or so which means people can buy it on margin or sell it short. And if I understand you correctly the shareholders who are locked up for 180 days can also short the stock which means that they can short it against the box and lock in their profits. If that is true I suppose it could put some pressure on the stock but of course one can't short it if you can't borrow it and I suspect that amount will be small. Also the quiet period will end about the same time and I would think BRCD might have some announcements at that time. Incidentally their is a rather lengthy article in todays Minneapolis paper on Network Systems, a Mn. Co., which will play a key role in STK's (their parent co.) push into the SAN market. The article discusses the future size of the SAN market.

jim g, or anyone:
Regarding the article this morning:

"Incidentally there is a rather lengthy article in today's Minneapolis paper on Network Systems, a Mn. Co., which will play a key role in STK's (their parent co.)push into the SAN market. The article discusses the future size of the SAN market."

I thought the article was great PR for our niche, but I have no idea of our relationship with Network Systems or StorageTech. Are we simply competitors? In not wanting to dig through previous posts, I ask if someone would be kind enough to add any insights and/or links to this company's relationship with Ancor Corp.

Thanks in advance!
