Jenne.....they probably feel that enough damage is already done.

Why kill a dead horse?

The news alone are so devastating they rather avoid the issue all together.

I'm going to email investor relations.

This is unacceptable.

Jenne: wait for it; CNBC never disappoints when it come to hyping an earnings shortfall; however, this is rather large, compared to estimated eps; wonder what Wetherall was thinking; "more IPO's coming to keep up interest in CMGI, so no need to tell anyone that eps would be 2x below estimated?
This is not good for the entire I-net sector; just when it appeared it was bottoming; now we look for a new bottom. Maybe a chance for those who care to buy in cheap and hold longer term. Not so good for short term traders, however.
Regards,
James

The reason this quarter didn't look good is that they weren't able to sell any of their holdings at huge profits as they did in the quarter before.
Their earnings will always lag the price performance of the sector.
I do agree that they should have pre-announced.

i'm sure their spiel will be weighted toward the reported increase in revenues, current sacrifices necessary for future growth, and increase in partnerships with established it & i-nut players. won't do a lot of good in the here and now though.

cmgi's earning has never meant much. CMGI can easily sell its holdings to meet the number. But what's the point of doing that? CMGI is an index of investor's sentiment to internet sector.
