You're right; gotchas to those who know better and slip and can take it (I hope I'm in this category; certainly I put Edwarda and E and Joan and some others in it) is fun to do AND fun to eavesdrop on (which is why I don't PM most of those). But I can also see the argument that first-timers coming to the thread and running into one of those buzzsaws may think "this thread is NOT for me" and depart without a word (or, even worse, with a grammatically incorrect word which somebody who has seen the gotcha posts and thinks they're fun may gotcha back to the newcomer who doesn't yet understand that it's all in good fun among friends). And if any sentence deserves a bunch of "gotchas," that one does!
