We've noted a couple of times here that Simplot sells with astonishingly poor timing. He's almost a perfect contrary indicator -- if only we could get his sale info in real time instead of days and weeks later.

The only thing I can think of that wouldn't qualify as a conspiracy theory is that maybe he sells covered calls on the way down and then sells the underlying stock to get into something else.
